MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES AND FEES

 

Become a Member of the National GC Network

REGULAR - General Counsels, in-house senior legal executives, and senior in-house legal leaders who identify as Indigenous, Black or a Person of Colour employed in a company (that is not in the business of providing legal services) with operating presence in Canada. Regular members must be approved by the Membership Committee.

Member Benefits: Complimentary or reduced rate access to annual conference, seminars, social & networking events, Monthly Matcha, and subscription to newsletter, and more! Regular members can vote at the meeting of the members, and are eligible to hold positions on the NGCN Executive Board and are encouraged to join NGCN Committees.

2025 Fee: $200 + tax


EMERITUS - General Counsels, in-house senior legal executives, and senior in-house legal leaders who identify as Indigenous, Black or a Person of Colour who were National GC Network members but have retired from employment. Emeritus members must be approved by the Membership Committee.

Member Benefits: Complimentary or reduced rate access to annual conference, seminars, social & networking events, Monthly Matcha, subscription to newsletter, and more! Emeritus members are non-voting members.

2025 Fee: $125 + tax


ASSOCIATE - General Counsels, in-house senior legal executives, and senior in-house legal leaders who identify as Indigenous, Black or a Person of Colour who are transitioning between in-house roles at companies (that are not in the business of providing legal services) with operating presence in Canada and expect to be eligible for National GC Network Regular membership. Associate members must be approved by the Membership Committee.

Member Benefits: Complimentary or reduced fee access to annual conference, seminars, social & networking events, Monthly Matcha, subscription to newsletter, and more! Associate members are non-voting members.

2025 Fee: $125 + tax


EMERGING LEADER - In-house lawyers who identify as Indigenous, Black or a Person of Colour who do not qualify for Regular, Emeritus or Associate membership and are employed in a company (that is not in the business of providing legal services) with operating presence in Canada, endorsed by their General Counsel (or the most senior legal executive in Canada or a member of the National GC Network’s board) as having demonstrated leadership experience, and is an emerging leader who can be expected to be eligible for National GC Network Regular membership within 5 years. Emerging Leader members must be approved by the Membership Committee.

Member Benefits: Access to annual conference and select seminars (at reduced fee), and subscription to newsletter. Emerging Leader members are non-voting members.

2025 Fee: $125 + tax


ALLY - Counsel who do not qualify for Regular, Emeritus, Associate or Emerging Leader membership but who are employed by a company (that is not in the business of providing legal services) with operating presence in Canada as its in-house counsel and who have been called to the Bar for at least five years in a Canadian jurisdiction. Allies must be sponsored by a Regular member and approved by the Membership Committee.

Member Benefits: Access to annual conference and select seminars (at reduced fee), and subscription to newsletter. Ally members are non-voting members.

2025 Fee: $75 + tax
